Engaging in a diary-like approach, merging memory, stream of consciousness writing, and abstract mark-making this piece began as a sizable text-based painting, however, it gradually evolved into a more emotive, gestural piece employing a variety of materials including acrylic paint, spray paint, oil pastel, chalk, and affixed photographs. Crafted in 2019, the painting embodies numerous facets of Higgins's academic pursuits, stemming from his graduation from grad school in 2017.
